.DISCUSSION...
Forecast for 19-20 thousand feet near the summit of Denali. East winds 25 to 30
mph will increase briefly to 35 to 40 mph around 7 to 8am Thursday morning before
diminishing back to around 30 mph around 11am and remaining that strong through
the day on Thursday. Winds will diminish to around 20 mph by late Thursday night.
Clouds are expected to persist from 3000 feet to above the summit until around
7am when clouds will begin to thin. Clouds may persist longer on the southeast
side of the mountain than on the north side. Expect clear skies above 8000 feet
by noon, with broken clouds persisting below. A layer of broken clouds should
return between 7 and 10 thousand feet around 4pm, persisting through Thursday
evening. Expecting clear skies to persist above 10 thousand feet. Temperatures
will see little change, ranging from 23 to 27 below zero.
