884 FNUS55 KBOU 252104 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 304 PM MDT Sat May 25 2024 .DISCUSSION...Tonight and Sunday...Showers and thunderstorms are likely over the mountains and foothills this evening with scattered coverage over the plains. An upper trough will move across the forecast area overnight, with a subsident airmass and downsloping winds behind it for Sunday. Humidity levels will drop to around 20 percent over the plains Sunday afternoon but will be higher in the mountains and foothills. There may be elevated fire weather conditions for few hours Sunday afternoon over the plains due to the fairly strong downsloping winds expected. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Sunday night through Thursday... Memorial Day will be dry and pleasant with fire weather conditions on the lower side. More moisture will arrive Tuesday and this moisture will last across the eastern plains through Friday. This increased moisture will keep relative humidity above 15-25 percent across the plains which will result in no critical fire weather conditions. The only area that may have elevated fire weather conditions is South Park on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday due to breezy and dry conditions. Most days will have good to very good smoke dispersal. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
