...NWS Damage Survey for 05/24/2024 Tornado Event Update # 3...

...Corrected the width of Riverside-West Branch Tornado...

.Update...Another two tornadoes have been surveyed today.  This EF1 occurred
in near Delta in Keokuk County Iowa, and a fairly long track EF1 tornado
occurred from Washington County through southeast Johnson Co, to Cedar County
Iowa.

.Overview...A fast moving derecho brought both damaging winds and tornadoes
to Iowa and Illinois during the morning hours Friday May 24th, 2024.

Survey Summary:
An NWS survey team found damage consistent with an EF-1 tornado,
just northwest of Delta, Iowa, in Keokuk County early Friday
morning. The brief tornado had estimated winds around 110 mph,
and caused significant damage to trees and outbuildings. There
were no injuries. Thanks to Keokuk County emergency management
for assistance in completing the survey.

Survey Summary:
A tornado developed just east of Riverside in Washington County,
and moved rapidly northeast, following an intermittent path
through southeast Johnson County, to near West Branch in Cedar
County. The tornado caused tree and outbuilding damage, and was
rated EF-1 with maximum winds around 100 mph. Thanks to emergency
management for assistance with the survey.
