.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values and winds will remain outside of critical
thresholds.
High pressure centered to the east of Georgia will promote dry
conditions and benign weather across the forecast area today. Partly
cloudy skies are expected today, with passing high clouds this
morning and scattered cumulus clouds this afternoon. Ample sunshine
will help high temperatures climb to the upper 80s across the
majority of the area this afternoon. Minimum RH values are forecast
to range from 40-50 percent this afternoon, with the highest values
in the mountains. Winds will be fairly light today, peaking between
4-8 mph this afternoon. Winds will be SE to S in central Georgia and
S to SW at north Georgia.
Rain chances will return on Thursday as a cold front slowly moves
southward through the Tennessee Valley region. Scattered showers and
thunderstorms are expected generally along and north of the I-20
corridor, with the greatest coverage in the afternoon. Minimum RH
values are forecast to range from 45-55 percent, with the highest
values in the far northern tier. Winds will be mainly SW, peaking at
5-10 mph in the afternoon.
