.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values and winds will remain outside of critical
thresholds.
Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in
north Georgia today, mainly along and north of I-20, with the
greatest coverage in the afternoon. Minimum RH values are forecast
to range from 45-55 percent, with the highest values in the far
northern tier. Winds will be mainly SW, peaking at 5-10 mph in the
afternoon. Mixing heights will rise to 4500-5500 ft across the
majority of the forecast area, with the exception of the far
northern tier, where they will range from 3500-4500 ft.
Rain chances will be greater across the area on Friday, with
scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms in north Georgia and
more isolated showers and thunderstorms in central Georgia. Once
again, the coverage of precipitation will be during the afternoon
hours. Minimum RH values will range from 50-65 percent in north
Georgia and 40-50 percent in central Georgia on Friday afternoon.
Winds will be SW once again, peaking at 5-10 mph in the afternoon.
