...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of southwestern Macon,
southern Marion, southeastern Chattahoochee, northeastern Stewart,
central Webster, Schley and northwestern Sumter Counties through 530
PM EDT...

At 446 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Brooklyn, or 10 miles
northwest of Preston, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Winds 40 to 50 mph, up to penny sized hail, frequent
         lightning and heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
         light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
         street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Locations impacted include...
Americus, Buena Vista, Ellaville, Preston, Richland, Plains, Ideal,
Andersonville, Putnam, Seminole, Murrays Crossroads, Fountainville,
La Crosse, Brooklyn, Renfroe, Draneville, Friendship, Doyle,
Bumphead, and Church Hill.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
west central Georgia.
