  Little Sioux River at Spencer affecting Clay County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY TUESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Little Sioux River at Cherokee.

* WHEN...Until early Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Cherokee city park begins to flood on the
  south bank of the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 18.0 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:00 AM CDT Thursday was 18.3 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall today, perhaps
    rising late Friday. It will then fall below flood stage early
    next week.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 9.5 feet, significant amounts of pasture and other
  farm land begin flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 8.9 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:45 AM CDT Thursday was 9.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is cresting currently and will begin to
    fall later today, falling below flood stage through the
    second half of the weekend.
  - Flood stage is 8.0 feet.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, the right bank overflows, and minor
  flooding of the Spencer city park and some rural agricultural
  areas begins.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.5 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:15 AM CDT Thursday was 11.6 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.7
    feet this afternoon and then begin falling into the weekend.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
