This hazardous weather outlook is for extreme southwest Nebraska...
northwest Kansas and east central Colorado.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

No hazardous weather is expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are forecast to develop
Thursday afternoon and evening east of Highway 25 in northwest
Kansas and southwest Nebraska. Storms will be capable of producing
large to very large hail and damaging winds; a tornado may also be
possible near sunset.

A cold front then moves across the area where additional severe
storms may be possible east of Highway 83 again with large hail and
damaging winds. Wind gusts up to 50 mph, not associated with
thunderstorms, are possible to the west of Highway 83.

Very high grassland fire danger is forecast across portions of Kit
Carson and Cheyenne counties in Colorado along with Sherman, Wallace
and Greeley counties in Kansas as southwest winds gust around 30 mph.
A sudden shift to northwest winds gusting around 50 mph with an
advancing cold front may cause unpredictable fire behavior should one
be ongoing.

For the holiday weekend, there will be a chance for storms both
Saturday and Sunday, with severe storms possible.
