In 1950, a very late season shot of cold air impacted the area. Lows dropped into the 20s and 30s, and 3 inches of snow fell near Flagler Colorado. In 1996, a weak tornado 11 miles northwest of Leoti Kansas in Wichita County damaged farm buildings, downed power lines, and broke windows in cars. A horse which was carried and then dropped by the tornado died the next day. $$
