...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1115 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Northeast Cabarrus County and extreme southeastern Rowan
  County in North Carolina.

* WHEN...Until 1115 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams
  and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks,
  greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and
  parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible.
  A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible.  A
  small culvert washout or two is possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 814 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated torrential rain due to
    slow-moving thunderstorms over the Dutch Buffalo Creek
    watershed from Cold Hill south to Mt Pleasant and the
    confluence of the Rocky River near NC 200. Between 1.5 and
    2.5 inches of rain have fallen over the past 60 minutes.
    Resultant excess runoff may result in nuisance flooding
    across the Advisory area.

    The areas of primary concern include along Jennie Wolf Creek
    near Gold Hill Rd, Klutz Rd, Cline School Rd, and Sisk Carter
    Rd.

    An additional 1-2 inches of rain may occur, primarily in
    Cabarrus County near and south of Mount Pleasant. This may
    exacerbate ongoing flooding and will likely cause new
    flooding to develop, especially along and near Dutch Buffalo
    Creek including along Adams Creek near Mt Pleasant Rd, as
    well as poor-drainage areas within the town of Mt. Pleasant.
    Avoid all area streams and flooded roadways.

  - Nuisance flooding may occur near or within the following
    locations...
    Rockwell, Mt Pleasant and Gold Hill.
