  Carolina

* WHEN...Until 900 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams
  and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks,

  A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible.  A
  small culvert washout or two is possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 601 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    training thunderstorms over the headwaters of Little River
    near Penrose and Little River as well as feeder streams into
    the French Broad River near Brevard, Pisgah Forest, and
    Penrose. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen over
    the past 60 minutes. Some locations within the Advisory area
    have seen up to 2 inches of rain in less than 45 minutes.
    Resultant excess runoff may result in nuisance flooding
    across the Advisory area.

    The areas of primary concern include along the lower reach of
    Crab Creek and Big Branch near Crab Creek Rd and Cascade Lake
    Rd, Glade Creek and Lyday Creek near Old Hendersonville Hwy
    and Williams Rd and other low-lying and poor drainage areas
    near Penrose, Brevard, and Pisgah Forest.

  - And additional inch of rain may occur as a final round of
    storms train over the Advisory area. This may exacerbate
    ongoing flooding or cause new flooding to develop. Avoid all
    area streams and flooded roadways.

  - Nuisance flooding may occur near or within the following
    locations...
    Brevard, Dupont State Forest, Little River In Transylvania
    County, Penrose and Crab Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
