...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM EDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the
  following county, Avery.

* WHEN...Until 1215 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams
  and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks,
  greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and
  parking lots.  Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible.
  A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may be impassible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1139 PM EDT, The N Toe River in Newland has crested and
    has fallen back below bankfull or Action/Advisory Stage.
    Flooding no longer poses a threat in Newland.  The floodwave
    is now working downstream and nuisance flooding of adjacent
    low-lying areas between Newland and Minneapolis is possible
    through midnight.  The Flood Warning will be allowed to
    expire on time at 12:15am.  Please continue to heed any road
    closures and avoid area streams.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
