HABERSHAM...EASTERN RABUN...NORTHWESTERN PICKENS AND OCONEE COUNTIES
THROUGH 1100 AM EDT...
At 1033 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 12 miles east of Clayton to 7 miles north of
Toccoa. Movement was east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Seneca, Walhalla, Westminster, Tallulah Falls, Salem, Lake Keowee,
Jocassee Gorges, Lake Jocassee, Devils Fork State Park, and Keowee
Toxaway State Park.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.
