SOUTHWESTERN CALDWELL AND BURKE COUNTIES IS CANCELLED...
The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the warned
area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for
the Piedmont of North Carolina. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch also
remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for western and the Piedmont of
North Carolina...and Upstate South Carolina.

FOR SOUTHERN CATAWBA...EASTERN RUTHERFORD...WESTERN LINCOLN AND
WESTERN CLEVELAND COUNTIES...
At 853 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from 5 miles east of Newton to 5 miles west of Lincolnton
to 5 miles northeast of Forest City, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include...
Newton, Conover, Longview, Maiden, Belwood, Lawndale, Fallston,
Polkville, Ellenboro, and Lattimore.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Prepare immediately for damaging winds. People outside should move
