Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
337 AM CDT Sun May 26 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A potential for strong to severe storms exists tonight into
Monday morning, bringing wetting rains to the Tennessee Valley.
Storm total rainfall is forecast to be around 1", however, higher
amounts are possible. Between today and Monday, a cold front will
allow a wind shift from southerly to westerly.

Today, mixing heights are forecast to be 4500+ ft coupled with
southerly transport winds around 20-30 mph, allowing for very good
dispersions. Monday, mixing heights are forecast to be 6000+ ft
coupled with westerly transport winds around 10-15 mph, allowing
for very good dispersions.

Fog potential over the next few days: A low chance of fog exists
this morning. Any fog that forms will dissipate shortly after
daybreak.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time due to
saturated soils and increased RH values.
