A much quieter day was ongoing across the central U S with mostly
sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s. Cloud cover will
gradually increase across central and western Kansas overnight as
a storm system approaches the northern High Plains. As the cloud
cover arrives, a few showers and storms are possible across
northern Kansas and Nebraska late tonight into Thursday morning.
Lows will range from the upper 40s across northwest Kansas to near
60 across southeast Kansas. The threat for severe storms returns
Thursday afternoon as storm system ejects into the central and
northern Plains. Temperatures in the 80s will be common across the
central Plains.
