...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN PENDER COUNTY
THROUGH 530 PM EDT...

At 458 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Comfort to Catherine Lake to near Murray
Town. Movement was southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Surf City, Topsail Beach, White Stocking, Maple Hill, Murray Town,
Willard, Edgecomb, and Watha.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 388 and 395.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
