...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL BELL...KNOX AND
NORTHEASTERN WHITLEY COUNTIES THROUGH 845 AM EDT...

At 820 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Wilton, or 9 miles west of Barbourville, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Barbourville, Pineville, Artemus, Swan Lake, Moore Hill, Clate,
Barnyard, Salt Gum, King, Jarvis, Girdler, Wasioto, Avis, Gray,
Dewitt, Flat Lick, Permon, Wilton, Himyar, and Walker.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING HIGHWAYS...
 Interstate 75 in east central Kentucky between mile markers 20 and
27.
 U.S. Highway 25 East in Bell County between mile markers 12 and 18.
 U.S. Highway 25 East in Knox County between mile markers 1 and 26.
 U.S. Highway 25 East in Laurel County near mile marker 0.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
