...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHEASTERN CHERRY COUNTY
THROUGH 1130 PM CDT...

At 1042 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Merritt Reservoir, or 25 miles southwest of
Valentine, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northeastern Cherry
County, including the following locations... Big Alkali Lake State
Wildlife Management Area, Highway 97 crossing the Niobrara River, and
Schlagel Creek State Wildlife Management Area.

This includes the following highways...
 Highway 97 between mile markers 105 and 137.
 Highway 83 between mile markers 188 and 203.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
this storm passes.
