Rating: TSTM/Wind Estimated Peak Wind: 85 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.82 miles Path Width /maximum/: 5000 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 05/26/2024 Start Time: 10:42 PM CDT Start Location: Turnertown / Simpson County / KY Start Lat/Lon: 36.7806 / -86.6552 End Date: 05/26/2024 End Time: 10:48 PM CDT End Location: 1 E Franklin / Simpson County / KY End Lat/Lon: 36.723 / -86.5553 Survey Summary: A substantial downburst of wind hit the northwestern portion of Franklin, KY. Damage consisted of hundreds of trees down, and unfortunately some fell on several residences. There were also many branches down, and some power poles broken or leaning due to either trees falling on the power lines or the wind itself. In terms of structural damage, no damage from the wind directly was found only from the trees falling. All trees were blown to the south or southeast.
