...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EASTERN COOK AND NORTHERN LAKE
COUNTIES THROUGH 500 PM CDT...

At 431 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Hammond, moving east southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Chicago, Hammond, Gary, Calumet City, Merrillville, East Chicago,
Schererville, Hobart, Lansing, Highland, Munster, Dolton, South
Holland, Griffith, South Deering, Lake Station, Lynwood, Glenwood,
Whiting, New Chicago, South Chicago, East Side, Calumet Heights,
Hegewisch, and Burnham.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
