672 FZUS63 KMQT 251346 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 946 AM EDT Sat May 25 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.5 inch low pressure near Lake Winnipeg gradually weakens while slowly tracking north away from Lake Superior. In its wake, a weak high pressure builds to 29.9 inches across the Great Lakes region tonight. Ridging shifts east on Sunday as the next low pressure at 29.5 inches lifts northeast into southern Wisconsin. This low deepens to 29.3 inches as it tracks northeast across northern lower Michigan Monday morning and then into western Quebec by Tuesday morning. In its wake, a 30.2 inch high pressure builds over the Northern Plains on Tuesday. This high pressure continues building to 30.3 inches by Wednesday as it shifts east over the Upper Great Lakes.
