  Southwestern Crosby County in northwestern Texas...
  Southeastern Hockley County in northwestern Texas...

* Until midnight CDT.

* At 1038 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles south of
  Woodrow, or 12 miles southwest of Slaton, moving southeast at 35
  mph.

  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR SOUTHERN LUBBOCK COUNTY, NEW HOME,
  TAHOKA, AND WILSON.

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Several West Texas Mesonet sites observed wind gusts to
           or above 80 mph.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Lubbock, Slaton, Post, Tahoka, Wolfforth, Ransom Canyon, O`Donnell,
  Grassland, New Moore, Lubbock South Plains Mall, Caprock, Texas
  Tech University, Southland, Slide, Downtown Lubbock, Woodrow, Reese
  Center, Meadow, Wilson, and Buffalo Springs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind
speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are
especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be
overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. This storm has the potential to cause
serious injury and significant property damage.

This is a dangerous storm, capable of producing large hail driven by
severe winds! SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay
away from windows! If you are caught outdoors, cover your head and
neck.
