At 649 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 23 miles northeast of Marathon, or 31 miles south of Fort Stockton, moving southeast at 40 mph. THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR WESTERN PECOS COUNTY. HAZARD...100 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be destroyed. Expect considerable damage to homes and businesses. Expect extensive tree damage and power outages. This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of west central Pecos County. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain alert for a possible tornado!
