The National Weather Service in Newport has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  S of Currituck Beach Light NC to Oregon Inlet NC out to 20 nm...
  Waters from Currituck Beach Light to Oregon Inlet NC from 20 to 40
  nm...

* Until 800 PM EDT.

* At 724 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing
  waterspouts were located along a line extending from 7 nm northeast
  of Duck to near Ar130 to near Ar140, moving east at 45 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to nearly 50 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
           hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly
           higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Ar140, Ar130, and Ar145.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for the adjacent
coastal waters.

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
