...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT
FOR WASHINGTON...SOUTHEASTERN MARTIN AND NORTHWESTERN TYRRELL
COUNTIES...

At 602 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Hinson, or near
Plymouth, moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Plymouth, Columbia, Woodley, Hinson, Westover, Pleasant Grove,
Scuppernong, Phelps Lake, Mackeys, Roper, Jamesville, Creswell, and
Dardens.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for eastern North
Carolina.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Newport.
