.SYNOPSIS...A high pressure ridge across the eastern portions
will slowly shift E of the area tonight. Winds and seas will
increase over the S portion this evening through Fri ahead of
Hurricane Helene, which is moving across the eastern Gulf of
Mexico inland into the Southeast U.S. All marine interests should
closely monitor the latest forecasts from the National Hurricane
Center. Otherwise, a cold front will move S into the northern
waters late Fri into Fri night, then continue into the central
waters Sat while becoming nearly stationary. A broad area of low
pressure will develop along the North Carolina coast Sat night
into early Sun then drift offshore late Sun through Mon night
while dragging a cold front through the far southern waters. The
low will remain nearly stationary across the northern waters Tue
and Tue night.
