...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Illinois, including the following
  counties, Hardin and Pope and western Kentucky, including the
  following counties, Caldwell, Crittenden, Hopkins, Livingston,
  Lyon, Union and Webster.

* WHEN...Until 345 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1139 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Princeton, Marion, Dawson Springs, Eddyville, Sturgis, Land
    Between The Lakes Area, Rosiclare, Golconda, Creswell,
    Farmersville, Joy, Burna, Olney, Kuttawa, Fredonia, Cave-in-
    Rock, Elizabethtown, Carrsville, Fryer and Gross.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
