...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL DAVIDSON...NORTHERN
RANDOLPH AND SOUTHWESTERN GUILFORD COUNTIES THROUGH 630 PM EDT...

At 548 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles southeast of Thomasville, or 9 miles west of Randleman, moving
northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Greensboro, High Point, Asheboro, Randleman, Thomasville, Archdale,
Trinity, Pleasant Garden, Jamestown, and Liberty.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Dont wait until you see the first lightning flash before heading to
safety. Move indoors at the first sign of threatening skies or the
first sound of thunder. Deadly lightning strikes can occur well ahead
of an approaching storm, prior to the arrival of rain and wind. Make
sure that lightning is well away from your location before resuming
outdoor activity.
