...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 PM EDT THIS
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of Virginia, including the following counties and
  independent city, Alleghany VA, Botetourt, City of Covington and
  Craig and southeast West Virginia, including the following
  counties, Greenbrier, Monroe and Summers.

* WHEN...Until 1215 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1049 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Allen Creek, Barbours Creek, Back Creek, Broad Run, Boulder
    Run, Big Run, Boone Creek, Big Creek, Bens Run, Blue Spring
    Run, Buggy Branch, Beech Run and Beckner Branch.
    Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports
and pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service
