Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...A few lingering showers and snow showers this morning
but high pressure will bring a return to warmer and drier weather
this afternoon and into Friday across Mount Rainier National Park.
A progressive weather pattern takes shape this weekend and into
the first half of next week with a parade of frontal systems
crossing the region Friday night, Monday, and Wednesday, bringing
additional periods of rain and snowfall to the park, though snow
levels remain above 5500 feet.

.IMPACTS...Strong winds near the summit will make it difficult to
move safely and could produce local whiteout conditions. A high
level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of
GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these conditions.

increasing to 6500 feet in the afternoon.
