At 428 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers, some with heavy rain mostly in northwest Arkansas and
eastern Oklahoma south of I44. They were most widespread and
heaviest in Leflore and Sequoyah counties in Oklahoma and Sebastian
county in Arkansas. The precipitation was in the Fort Smith and
Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville areas. Movement was to the
southeast at around 25 mph. The average amount where it rained last
hour was one tenth to one quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of
three quarters to around an inch. Coverage and intensity decreased
during the last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for late tonight and
early this morning, mostly cloudy, a slight chance of thunderstorms.
Some thunderstorms may be severe .
