.DISCUSSION...Skies will be mainly cloudy this morning, with some
decrease in clouds during the afternoon. Scattered showers will
persist in most areas this morning, then begin tapering off in the
afternoon. A thunderstorm or two is possible later this morning
and afternoon. High temperatures will be in the 60s to around 70
degrees. Winds will become southerly at 5 to 15 mph across far
western South Dakota this afternoon, remaining north to northeast
toward south central South Dakota. Relative humidities will drop
to 30 to 50 percent in the afternoon, lowest values across far
northwest South Dakota.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this
afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Saturday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category.
