FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING ORANGE... SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTIES... No big changes to the forecast this afternoon. Low clouds continue to clear to the coast as of 1 pm. Partial clearing is expected along much the coast, with a few localized coastal areas seeing mostly clear skies. Low clouds are expected to move back inland tonight, but coverage is not expected to be quite as extensive. For much of the upcoming week, the marine layer is forecast to get shallower due to minor height rises in the mid-levels of the atmosphere. Coverage of low clouds is expected to continue to reach the western valleys, with less chance of coverage reaching into the Inland Empire by mid- week, and better chances of complete clearing during the day. This week, high temperatures will only fluctuate a couple degrees each day and remain within 5 degrees above normal. Coast and valleys will remain slightly below normal and deserts will be slightly above normal. A short wave ridge is expected over the area by next Saturday which could bring additional minor warming and a continued shallow marine layer.
