Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
302 PM MDT Sun May 26 2024

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Monday...Moderately strong
northwesterly flow aloft tonight over the forecast area will
give way to decreased westerly flow aloft on Monday. The forecast
calls for dry conditions tonight and only a few alpine showers
and thunderstorms Monday afternoon. Good to very good smoke
dispersal is expected for a few hours Monday afternoon.
Although the humidity levels will drop into the 15-25% range
over the plains Monday afternoon, the winds are not expected
to be very strong and critical fire weather conditions are
not expected.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday night through Friday...
Expect warm temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday with isolated to
scattered thunderstorms. Increasing southeasterly surface winds by
Thursday will lead to an increase in low level moisture across the
plains. A stronger system moves through the Rockies by the end of
the week with gusty winds and warm temperatures Thursday. Scattered
strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the plains. A
cold front moves through the area Thursday night with cooler
temperatures expected on Friday.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
