Widespread showers and thunderstorms will continue tonight, diminishing in coverage from south to north late tonight into Wednesday but remaining higher in far northern Minnesota. Additional rainfall tonight into Wednesday will range from a half inch to 2 inches. There have already been rainfall reports of 1 to around 2 inches in the Brainerd Lakes region. A few severe thunderstorms will be possible late afternoon into the evening over mainly northwest Wisconsin. The main threats are damaging wind but some hail and a tornado will also be possible. Strong westerly winds will develop on Wednesday with gusts of 30 to 45 mph expected. There will be periodic chances for more showers and thunderstorms through the weekend, although Friday will feature the best chance (60-80%).
