Major Hurricane Helene will continue to accelerate north- northeastward this evening, making landfall along the Florida Big Bend coast before midnight tonight. Helene will quickly move northwest of our local waters overnight through Friday morning, with tropical storm conditions expected to continue through around sunrise on Friday. Winds and seas will gradually subside on Friday afternoon, as Helene races northward across Georgia and enters the Tennessee Valley. Otherwise, a stalled frontal boundary over the Florida peninsula on Saturday will begin to slowly lift northward towards the northeast Florida waters early next week, accompanied by scattered showers and thunderstorms. A cold front will then enter the southeastern states towards midweek, possibly pushing across the Georgia waters by Wednesday night. .GULF STREAM...
