.SYNOPSIS...

Major Hurricane Helene will continue to accelerate north-
northeastward this evening, making landfall along the Florida Big
Bend coast before midnight tonight. Helene will quickly move
northwest of our local waters overnight through Friday morning,
with tropical storm conditions expected to continue through around
sunrise on Friday. Winds and seas will gradually subside on
Friday afternoon, as Helene races northward across Georgia and
enters the Tennessee Valley. Otherwise, a stalled frontal
boundary over the Florida peninsula on Saturday will begin to
slowly lift northward towards the northeast Florida waters early
next week, accompanied by scattered showers and thunderstorms. A
cold front will then enter the southeastern states towards
midweek, possibly pushing across the Georgia waters by Wednesday
night.
