...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT RAPIDES...NORTH CENTRAL
EVANGELINE AND AVOYELLES PARISHES THROUGH 500 PM CDT...

At 428 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Glenmora to near Evergreen. Movement was
east at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor
         objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Alexandria, Pineville, Marksville, Bunkie, Glenmora, Moreauville,
Cheneyville, Bordelonville, Alexandria International Airport, Effie,
Ball, Cottonport, Mansura, Lecompte, Hessmer, Evergreen,
Plaucheville, Tioga, Timber Trails, and Esler Regional Airport.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 51 and 98.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central
Louisiana.
