115 FZUS61 KCLE 271325 GLFLE Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie National Weather Service Cleveland OH 925 AM EDT Fri Sep 27 2024 For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... Helene`s low weakens to 29.30 inches as it wobbles northward and then northwestward to near the Lower Ohio Valley by this evening. Thereafter, the low is expected to be nearly-stationary through Monday. Simultaneously, a trough averaging 29.80 inches and extending from Helene`s low impacts the Lake Erie region. Farther north, a ridge averaging 30.00 inches persists over and near the northern Great Lakes through Sunday before exiting toward the Canadian Maritimes and vicinity on Monday. Helene`s low is expected to drift east-northeastward toward the Middle Ohio Valley and dissipate in the same area Monday night as the aforementioned ridge exits toward the Canadian Maritimes, a cold front approaches from the Upper Midwest, and the aforementioned trough averaging 29.80 inches lingers over Lake Erie. On Tuesday, a cold front is expected to sweep southeastward across Lake Erie.
