000 FNUS76 KOTX 262248 FWSOTX Spot Forecast for Abraham Canyon...Colville Agency National Weather Service Spokane WA 348 PM PDT Thu Sep 26 2024 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 1600 PDT on September 26. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Breezy south/southwest winds this afternoon will wane overnight as inversions set in 2000-2100 hours. A weak cold front will brush the region overnight. This will keep winds elevated just above the fire elevation and over the higher peaks with a low probability to mix down to the fire. The air mass is drying out with only fair recoveries expected on the ridgetop. Winds on Friday will remain from the south/southwest with lighter speeds and lower probabilities for afternoon gusts. A shift to light northerly winds returns Friday night with terrain driven flow on Saturday. A stronger cold front on Sunday will bring a stronger push of west to northwest winds. There are no signs of wetting rains in the near future. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Partly sunny. CWR.................0 percent. LAL.................1. Max temperature.....60.
