Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
323 PM MDT Thu May 23 2024

...A Red Flag Warning is in effect from until 9 pm mdt this
evening for Fire Weather Zone 225 below 7500 feet...

...A Fire Weather Watch is in effect for Zone 225 below 7500 feet
for Saturday afternoon and evening...

.Discussion...

Critical fire weather conditions will continue this afternoon and
evening over the southern mountains below 7500 feet. Critical
conditions on Friday now appear to be less widespread than earlier
forecast, and the fire weather watch for Friday afternoon has been
cancelled. Winds and low relative humidity return on Saturday, with
critical conditions reappearing Saturday afternoon and evening.

For tomorrow, it will be cooler across most of the district, with
isolated thunderstorms possible over the central mountains and
around Pikes Peak. Warm and windy conditions then return to most of
the district on Saturday, with isolated thunderstorms again over the
central mountains and Pikes Peak region.

Looking at the forecast from Sunday into next week, it is expected
to be dry at most locations, with only isolated showers and
thunderstorms over the district during the afternoon. It will be
warm with temperatures expected to be slightly above normal.

Afternoon smoke dispersion will be very good to excellent at most
locations on Friday and Saturday.
