632 WGUS81 KRNK 181920 FLSRNK Flood Advisory National Weather Service Blacksburg VA 320 PM EDT Sat May 18 2024 NCC171-182115- /O.NEW.KRNK.FA.Y.0023.240518T1920Z-240518T2115Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Surry NC- 320 PM EDT Sat May 18 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 515 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of north central North Carolina, including the following county, Surry. * WHEN...Until 515 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 320 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Mitchell River, Fisher River, Muddy Fork, Little Creek, Christian Creek, North Prong South Fork Mitchell River, Mill Creek and Red Hill Creek. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
