.DISCUSSION...Skies will be partly to mostly sunny today with a
slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms across most
of the area. High temperatures will reach the 80s to near 90
degrees. Winds will be southerly at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30
mph during the late morning and afternoon. Relative humidities
will drop to 25 to 40 percent in the afternoon, lowest values
across far southwest South Dakota.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this
afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Tuesday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category.
