Subject: Discontinuation of the Max/Min Temperature and Precipitation
Table Product for all NWS Southern Region Offices: Effective July 1,
2024

Effective July 1, 2024, all NWS Southern Region (SR) Weather Forecast
Offices (WFOs) will discontinue issuance of the Maximum/Minimum
(Max/Min)
Temperature and Precipitation Table Product (RTPxx and RTPxxx).

The information contained in the RTP duplicates information contained
in
other text products as well as various websites and NWS application
programming interface (API).

WFO local products providing the data contained in the RTP product at
individual locations include:

* Daily Summary Message (DSM) Automated Surface Observing System
(ASOS)
Text Products for daily summaries of temperatures and precipitation
from
which the current RTP and CLI is constructed
* Climate (CLI) Text Products for routine climate reports
* Public Information Statement (PNS) Text Products for summaries of
temperatures and precipitation during significant weather events
* Record Event Report (RER) Text Products for record event reporting
* RR3 Text Products for cooperative observations
* MTR Text Products for routine METAR observations with temperature
and
precipitation data

Alternative websites providing the data contained in the RTP product
at
individual locations include:
