.KEY MESSAGES...

- Unseasonably warm through next Monday

- Rain chances Monday night into Tuesday

&&

.SHORT TERM /THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Issued at 202 PM EDT Thu Sep 26 2024

As the southeastern states brace for the arrival of Hurricane
Helene, high pressure covers the Great Lakes region. This area
of high pressure is expected to lead to more of the same over
the next few days, mostly sunny skies during the day but with
patchy ground fog likely forming late at night. Temperatures
will continue to be unseasonably warm with highs Friday ranging
from the mid 70s to low 80s, along with light winds. Comfortably
cool tonight with lows once again mainly in the 40s, with a few
spots near the lake shores around 50 or so.

&&

.LONG TERM /FRIDAY NIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY/...
Issued at 202 PM EDT Thu Sep 26 2024

No big changes to the long term forecast. Upper level ridging
across the region is expected to hold moisture from Helene to
our south through Monday. Will likely see patchy ground fog
formation at night into the weekend with very little wind flow.
A northern stream trough then leads to chances for showers
Monday night into Tuesday. Unseasonably warm daytime
temperatures continue with highs mainly in the 70s to near 80
through Monday. Seasonably cooler Tuesday into Wednesday with
highs generally in the 60s. Lows at night ranging from the mid
40s to mid 50s except the upper 30s to mid 40s Tuesday night.

.AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z FRIDAY/...
Issued at 701 PM EDT Thu Sep 26 2024

Only concern remains the expected development of early morning
MVFR to IFR producing shallow fog and mist at the taf locations.
Any fog/mist will burn off shortly after sunrise, leaving behind
VFR conditions under just some passing high clouds. No wind
concerns through the period.
