Anticipate chances for thunderstorms to start Monday
evening...mainly after 7 PM...and lasting overnight and into early
Tuesday morning. Some storms may become severe...and most of the
area is under at least a Slight Risk for severe weather...and
western portions of our coverage area are under an Enhanced Risk.
The primary threats with any severe storms will be damaging winds up
to around 70 MPH...and large hail up to the size of golf ball.
However...there could also be a low chance for tornado
development...particularly with any individual supercell storms.
Heavy rain is also possible...especially in our Nebraska coverage
area...which may receive widespread rainfall between 1 and 3 inches
overnight...with localized higher amounts possible in narrow swaths.
A Flood Watch has been issued for portions of our Nebraska counties
along andnorth of Highway 6. Please refer to the Flood Watch
statement for more details. Thunderstorms will remain Tuesday
morning and Northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph will gust to 40 mph.
High temperatures will range from the mid 60s for central Nebraska
to the upper 70s for north central Kansas. Wednesday looks to be a
pleasant day...with sunny skies...dry conditions and highs in the
lower to mid 70s. Winds will be from the West at around 10 mph.
Chances for rain showers and thunderstorms return Thursday after a
sunny start to the day. Highs will reach the mid 70s to lower 80s.
Winds will be from the South at 15 to 20 mph...gusting to 25 mph.
