...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of Chester County in South Carolina

* WHEN...Until 415 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Nuisance flooding of low-lying areas adjacent to streams
  and other poor-drainage areas, including farmland, parks,
  greenways, boat-access areas, golf courses, underpasses, and
  parking lots. Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible.
  A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible.  A
  small culvert washout or two is possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 129 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to slow-moving thunderstorms over
    the Seeley Creek and Sandy River basins, including over
    Chester, Chester State Park and northeast of Leeds. Between
    1.5 and 3 inches of rain may have fallen. Rainfall rates are
    slowly starting to weaken over the Advisory area, but an
    additional 0.50 to 1 inch of rainfall is likely. It will
    take at least 1-2 hours for the excessive runoff to work
    through area streams. During this time, streams will likely
    rise significantly and smaller streams may exceed bankfull,
    causing nuisance flooding of low-lying areas.

    Areas of greatest concern include along Chapel Branch and
    Julies Fork near US 321, Center Rd, and Pinckney Rd as well
    as Dry Fork near Brice St, Frasier Dr, Center St, and
    Flemming Cir. Ponding of poor-drainage areas is also
    possible, especially on the north and east sides of the city
    of Chester.

  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Chester, Lowrys, Chester State Park and Leeds.
