A powerful storm system circulating across the northern Plains set
off severe thunderstorms which produced several tornadoes across
western Nebraska Thursday evening. Keystone Lemoyne fire
officials reported significant damage to homes and buildings along
the north shore of Lake McConaughy. The weather service is
conducting storm surveys today to estimate the intensity of this
tornado and others.

For today, Pacific high pressure centered over Wyoming will build
through western and north central Nebraska presenting clear skies
but breezy northwest winds gusting to 30 mph. High temperatures
today will rise into the 60s to around 70.
