.SYNOPSIS...Dry weather continues over the weekend with a chance
of thunderstorms returning over the weekend and into early next
week as an upper level trough moves in over the state from the
northwest.

.SHORT TERM...Tonight through Saturday

Dry weather expected to continue tonight with lows in the dropping
into the 30s for northeast Nevada as a cold front is expected to
move in from an upper level trough coming from the northwest. 40s
and 50s everywhere else.

Saturday, dry but cooler weather is expected to continue for
northern Nevada with highs in the low 70s, with westerly winds
expected to increase to 15-20 mph, gusts as high as 25-30 mph. A
chance for isolated thunderstorms is expected for N. Nye and White
Pine Counties in the afternoon with the potential that some of
these thunderstorms could end up as dry thunderstorms with
precipitation expected to be less than a tenth of an inch. Winds
for central Nevada expected to reach up to 10-15 mph from the
west.

.LONG TERM...Sunday through next Thursday. An upper trough is
expected to move into the area from the north on Sunday and
Monday. This will bring another breezy to locally windy day across
the area with wind gusts to 30 mph during the afternoon. Isolated
showers are expected to develop across eastern Nevada during the
day though accumulations are going to be light. Highs for the
afternoon period will be in the 60s and 70s, though some of the
warmer locations in central Nevada could see temperatures near 80s
degrees. Look for leftover, isolated showers to continue across
east-central Nevada during the overnight, with other locations
expected to remain dry. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s.

On Monday the trough will continue its trek across northeast
Nevada with a northwest flow on Tuesday. Temperatures during the
afternoon will remain on the cool side with readings in the 60s on
Monday and 60s to near 70 on Tuesday. Lows will be in the 20s and
30s. Precipitation on both days are expected to be rather
isolated to scattered with amounts less than 0.05" on both days.
Winds will be out of the north and northwest and breezy with gusts
of 25 to 30 mph on Monday and 20 to 25 mph for Tuesday afternoon.

There exists another possibility for light showers Wednesday and
Thursday mainly across northern Nevada. Temperatures will moderate
somewhat with readings in the 60s and lows in the 30s. Overnight
lows will be in the 30s and 40s.

in action stage, and are expected to remain elevated over the
