Scattered thunderstorms are expected this afternoon into early evening as a cold front approaches the region. Gusty, potentially damaging winds are the primary severe threat, with marginally severe hail (around an inch in diameter) being a secondary threat. A brief tornado cannot be ruled out. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Monitor the latest forecasts as the remnants of a tropical system could impact our area by late week into the weekend. Heavy rains and gusty winds will be the main impacts Friday, with localized flooding possible. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and evening. GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY: Storms will generally move towards the northeast around 30 to 40 mph.
